ABOUT US
Our History
Safe Haven Maternity Home, a nonprofit organization under 501(c)(3), was established in 1992 to provide a safe home environment that inspires and provides resources to pregnant women and mothers and their babies who are in crisis. To date, we have assisted nearly 900 women and babies in need. We currently house up to eight women and their babies. Women can come pregnant or with their infant or toddler under the age of 3. Each resident may stay through her pregnancy, delivery and up to one year, or longer when necessary. We also partner with Department of Human Services to provide a return to parent facility for women who have or are at risk of loosing their infant or toddler to foster care. We are able to support women age 18 and older.
What We Offer Our Residents
Safe Haven’s overall purpose is to ensure residents develop successful independent living and job skills necessary to act as responsible parents and become contributing members in their community. Life and job skills are essential to success. Our experienced staff model and teach daily life skills to these women and network with community resource agencies to provide wrap around services that allow residents to maintain an independent, healthy lifestyle for themselves and their babies. Safe Haven's program is a minimal of three months, but upon individual evaluation, residents may stay one year or longer while securing safe housing.
